For our anniversary, I took Melissa to Market Street Grill and we had calamari for an appetizer. Melissa thought it would be a good idea to take some home for the kids so they could try some.
We made sure to save nice big ones with tentacles. Morgan didn't want anything to do with it, but the rest of the kids were interested in trying it. Believe it or not, Clayton liked it! Madison (left), too. Mackenzie (right) not so much; she found it quite disgusting!

Those faces are hilarious! Rachel is the only one of my kids that will eat it. I guess I shouldn't have told Caleb that it was Squidward.
I am going to have to side with Mackenzie on this one. I've eaten it a few times but it's not my favorite. I hope you enjoyed some of their clam chowder though....its the best thing ever. I always get some to bring home.
Very cute! Calamari was a staple on my mission! Can't say I miss it much but I am glad that you are being cultural with the kids!!
Haha the first time I had calamari was in marine biology class (high school in oregon is so awesome!) on one of our many dissection days. Our teacher brought in a bunch of frozen (and thawed) squid for us to cut open, and she saved out a few and made calamari in her little Fry Daddy. I thought they were good! Squid is funny...it turns into rubberbands unless you cook it for less than 3 minutes or over 30. Poor delicate creature. :)
i love clayton's face.
